Despicable Train Set
Despicable Train Set
This train set reminds me of the bible passage where Isaiah denounces social injustice, Isaiah 5:8-23. There is a cherry in Isaiah's speech that fits this thread:
Isaiah 5:20 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)
Ah, you who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter!
Here is what NBC Universal has to say about Minions, "Evolving from single-celled yellow organisms at the dawn of time, Minions live to serve, but find themselves working for a continual series of unsuccessful masters, from T. Rex to Napoleon. Without a master to grovel for, the Minions fall into a deep depression. But one minion, Kevin, has a plan; accompanied by his pals Stuart and Bob, Kevin sets forth to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow. Their search leads them to Scarlet Overkill, the world's first-ever super-villainess."
Minions are Pathogens, a bacterium, virus, or other micro-organism that can cause disease.
Good work NBC Universal (said with sarcasm) you make pathogens seem so cute! Without understanding, we now like the diseases that make us sick and die.
The world of man seems so upside down!

I've heard it said, more than once, that The Devil's greatest achievement is that people no longer believe he exists.

When belief in a God dies, the God dies.
The owls may indeed not be what they seem but still serve an imperative function: they remind us to look into the darkness.

Well worth reading just about everything he's ever written.

And you have read (if I recall correctly) Joseph Campbell's The Power of Myth , right? I found it enlightening and a necessary place to evolve .

Useful. I know the work. I wonder how if at all there was interaction with John Campbell.

Re: Despicable Train Set
It would be interesting to find out that he had interaction with Paul Tillich.
Re: Despicable Train Set
Despicable Me is a Universal Studios franchise, not Disney.
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

And if you took the time to watch the movies first before, in ignorance, attempting to turn the subject into some sort of unsolicited scriptural lesson, you would discover the overall theme is evil turned to good and the minions in Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 are very cleverly presented comic relief.

Thank you, Chuck. I remember seeing "Disney" and "Despicable Train Set" in the same advertisement. I better go back and fix that before Disney Lawyers contact me. Happy you were paying attention.

This opens the door for a line of truly despicable deadly pathogen toys.
Torturers, White Racists, Gay Bashers, Rich Psychopaths.

That ought to sell.

Wrong, I watched the movie.
sarge wrote:...attempting to turn the subject into some sort of unsolicited scriptural lesson,
Wrong... Solicit--ask for or try to obtain (something) from someone.
I offered the scripture to anyone who wanted to compare it to the despicable things, I did not ask for anything in return.
If I solicited anything from you Sarge, it would be more photos of your British Outline Modeling activities. I don't even find your work posted in Gauge 0 Guild Gazette. (Did I miss it?)

I agree that the cartoon is presented as comic relief but not that evil is turned to good. [opinion]
The minions killed their first boss, T-Rex. They did not seem to realize, as pathogens, they will kill anything they swarm on.
We are deprived of dinosaurs today if you extend the meaning of killing of T-Rex to explain the extinction of all dinasaurs.
They managed to kill every despicable thing they turned their worship toward. Well... except for Scarlet Overkill. They managed to steal the queen's crown and give it to Ms. Overkill, making her queen (not a good thing Sarge.) She seemed to be immune to the minion's infection and ousted them once she had possesion of the crown and position of queen.
Did you know: "Minions" is the second-highest-grossing animated film of all time? Evil pays, humans love it.

The fact that anyone spends money on this drivel boggles my mind.
