Hmmm the Chicago Meet is certainly tempting...but a thousand miles away makes it much less so. I'm not much of a traveler these days. Think I'll pass.

Hey Jay, I have finally decided to make the trip from Albany, NY to the Chicago show.

Can you believe it's costing me $504 to fly round trip!! I used to fly to CHI quite often when I was working and it was always under 200. Ouch!!!!

I resemble that remark! The distance, potential for BAD weather, and state of the exchequer will keep me away. I have done a similar drive, and it's about 10 hours with the hammer down! Figure in gasoline,tolls, hotel, entry and meals, and all the stuff I have going on at the home front and the answer is easy.

That said, I hope all of you that are going have a GREAT show, and do take some pics for Robert and I to salivate over!

$504 round trip to Albany?

I used to sit up there watching a thousand gallons of jet fuel being pumped in, wondering how it all worked. Fifty million for the aircraft, 120 seats, five crewmembers, twenty people on the ground getting paychecks and health care, paying Las Vegas for the ramp space, gate, and jetway, and we were going to make money at $250 a seat? Not smart enough to figure all that out. Now they want to privatize the ATC system. Good luck - railroads may then become competitive again.

Look at it more as you let him win Don't worry, your not the only one he has outbid! Maybe they need a tour of Carey's basement with all that doorstop stuff. it's a complete prewar doorstop layout!

I woke up this morning and found my wallet mysteriously magnetized to the north west corner of my bedroom walls; seeing Carey's photos cleared up that up. Have fun guys! Maybe see you up there next year.
