Somehow I am sure this is all Trumps fault.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/woman-behi ... peaks-out/
ATLANTA -- More than four months after Hurricane Maria, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is still providing food and water to devastated communities in Puerto Rico. Early in the crisis, FEMA awarded a large contract to a businesswoman from Atlanta to supply millions of meals, but only a fraction were delivered.

Tiffany Brown, the one-woman operator of Tribute Contracting in Atlanta, got a Google alert about FEMA seeking bids to provide meals to Puerto Rican victims of Hurricane Maria.

Last October, Brown scored a $156 million FEMA a contract to provide 30 million meals at a cost of $5.10 each. She subcontracted the job to two companies including a caterer in Atlanta, with 11 employees.

We asked her if she really thought 11 people were going to deliver millions of meals.

Only 50,000 of the 30 million meals were delivered. FEMA terminated the contract "due to late delivery." FEMA says Brown's company was vetted. But she has had five previous government contracts terminated for "not delivering required food" and her "inability to ship products" -- and no experience in dealing with large-scale disasters.

I wonder who appointed the head of FEMA  All the best people........ His appointee ='s his responsibility.

And, what the heck is wrong with these folks anyways - is the head a FEMA where repubs appoint their least competent money donor every time :?:

Typical government ineptness. A company called Innova, who had no presence in general aviation (as opposed to commercial, military and government) until a few years ago, when they purchased Sabreliner Corp in Missouri 2 years ago and Sierra Industries last year in Uvalde, TX. Both were going concerns and making money. Innova ran them both in the ground in 2 years, closing them both down even after moving Sierra to San Antonio and getting city money to pay for hangars and upgrades. So, the people who moved to San Antonio with them lost their jobs less than a year after they moved.

The punchline is: In their bankruptcy filings for Sabreliner and Sierra Industries Innova stated "we will continue with our military and government contracts, but stay away from general aviation."

Says volumes about getting government contracts. Can't compete in the real world, just work exclusively with the government.

FEMA is a nationa ldisgrace.
Whenever there is a disaster SOMETHING MUST BE DONE! Great sums of money are provided in an emergency setting with little oversight. It's a perfect recipe for graft & corruption. As one example, remember Katrina? As I recall, somewhere there is, or was, a vast field of never-used temporary housing structures. It would take a FEMA manager with the resources and tendencies of a communist dictator to run it properly.
Finally-the culprit identified is a womyn. All hail womyn-owned business.

Tiffany Brown, the one-woman operator of Tribute Contracting in Atlanta, FEMALE + Minority = Government contracts.

Easy to figure that one out.

Go to New Orleans and Gulf area and ask about FEMA - it's not just Trump  , it's about rewarding political hacks and donors that are not qualified to run a car wash given control over organization that are supposed to respond to our country's needs in the most trying of times. What this show is that the people doing the appointing don't care about the citizens of this country, and just care about rewarding their donor.

Take off the blinder, look around, think for yourself, and get a dose of reality - these people do not care about you or making anything better - they only care about lining their pockets with your money while the country burns...

Nobody’s prepared to rapidly handle a major catastrophe. Dems and repups use these events for cash grabs.

You and I agree. But your original post stated it was "...FEMA where *repubs* appoint their least competent money donor every time," which is what I object to.

The amounts of funding that evaporated after the Gulf hurricanes was amazing nearly all unaccounted for into companies that were probably shills...
