MMW SD45
MMW SD45
I tried to find the other thread and can't, so I'll restart it here. Received these over the weekend from a friend and thought the group might like to see them. I wondered why they weren't already posted on OGR and then remembered the thread was locked. Too bad, since now Erik has something to show.

I'm sure that someone there will start an new one.

Not anything I am going to buy anytime soon, but kudos to the execution of the model! Too bad SOME of the fans of Erik's stuff are such a bunch of idjits....they aren't doing him any favors with their ranting and raving.

Beautiful!
I can’t imagine OGR locking a thread!
But that diesel reminds me I have a KTM DD-40X in factory paint boxed up under the layout that I need to trade for something.

Funniest stuff that would go on for pages before it would get locked and there would be at least one every year or so. Overdue for one now with the Chicago meet coming up.

I'll give you a fruit bat named Eric, some wattle, and a nickle.

Well, MMW did produce a completed product. Some of us wondered. Now let's see how its owners like it.
This is a good thing.

Have any actually been delivered?

So Rufus, how much wattle are we talking about?
Enough to surround a Zulu village, perhaps?

Re: MMW SD45
I believe those are pre-production samples, in his 1/31/18 newsletter Eric is off to Korea again and hopes to have more info at March Chicago meet. His previous newsletter mentioned painted samples for this meet, he is also soliciting reservations for next diesel project which includes both a standard and a "premium" version with "early bird discounts" actual delivery of finished product to customers is projected for later this year. I believe the "activeness" of this topic on the forums and Erics perseverance over the past few years have helped to get sufficient buyers to put reservation money up front to get this project into production. On the MMW website you can follow the history of this project.JMO

I'm assuming that is for the SD45 and not the new project?

Re: MMW SD45
Correct the SD 45 project has deposits and final payments due when models come in, the next project is in the soliciting stage and promises to deliver in a much shorter time frame, the question would be do you ante up for the next project before you receive the first one ? I guess if the buyers are comfortable at these price points then this is not an issue. JMO
Re: MMW SD45
Actually, I'm not really looking to buy anything. Time to enjoy what I have and finish some projects that have been in the queue way too long.
