You didn't buy five pairs of Kadees, you bought ten. They retail at $10.10 for a pack of two pair.

The couplers are actually retail, two pair of the new type in long shank for $10.10. The old 804/805 ones are fifty cents less a pair retail, so that isn't outrageous ($5.05 a pair vs. $4.55 a pair).

Now that makes more sense.....

The shipping for UPS ground is outrageous for what UPS ground is compared to USPS.

Not sure if the PRR E8’s ever pulled the the Fleet Of Modernization cars, but it looks bitchin’ to me! The 20” car is aluminum by Weaver and it’s the only one I’ve found on EBay so far! The hunt is on! [/url]

Jon, I am selling a collection for a former club member that includes a five car Weaver Fleet of Modernism set and the two car add-on.
The cars have been two railed and have Kadee's already installed, though you may want to retrofit with the longer shank as per your thread. Private message me if you're interested.

I actually have culled a bit, as I was becoming convinced these things were breeding in the night, not to mention my Darling Bride needed a car.

However, I keep my scene of the marching off after the Trooping of the Colour:

Here's the lead element, Kings Troop, Royal Horse Artillery. They will shear off and head to Hyde Park where they fire a Royal Salute on the occasion.

Next comes the Band of the Household Cavalry leading the mounted element back to barracks:

The infantry of the Guards Division, meanwhile, head up the Mall back to Buckingham Palace. First the Massed Band lead by the pipes of the Scots Guards:

Now that Bob is rolling his eyes in some frustration, though I'm sure our Fearless Forum Host is cheered a bit since he also is a collector of soldiers, here's the latest project going on here.

I find I am very often kept from the workbench because of the same spinal issues that keep me from travelling more than about an hour from home on a good day. I just can't sit for any length of time, so this old watchmakers bench is going through a bit of a rebuild out on the main floor of the railroad.

I'll pull power overhead after the bench is squared away, and stock it with tools and a sheet of glass on the surface. Then I can work standing up. Can't keep me away!
