What fascinates me is how these people are so stubbornly out of touch with our marketplace, yet want to be players in it.

Pet peeve:

Stop shoving toy-train TCA grading standards at us, which are meanless, are totally subjective outside the Lionel collector world, and understand that TCA has nothing to do with us in scale modelling, and instead actually describe the piece!

For example, how hard is it to actually read off the label under the loco in the description? Helluva lot more important in our world than whether you think its a toy-train "grade C6" or whatever that means.

We're much more interested in who built it, what the fidelity is to prototype, and how well it performs, not whether a (excuse me?) scratchbuilt piece is mint in the box of all things. It just doesn't apply and they are missing the important bits.

I don't think you are obliged to buy from someone who does lousy photos and has no test track. They serve their purpose - redistributing this junk at a profit.

Somebody likes it......has 9 bids from 4 different bidders. Might not be a doorstop in the strictest sense, but is high on the "crude" scale! Wonder how much it weighs?
