Awesome brick (?) carriage factory.
Apparently the city planning commission hadn't got around to banning factories in a residential neighborhood. :D

Or residences in factory areas.
My home town in the upper Ohio Valley and most other towns in the area had house next to factories.
Quite often the only separation would be a street.
Steel mills would have a little distance to the houses.

Not really. The truth is as it is -- rare it is that the home owners are not pushed out of the way..........by businesses buying influence....

(OK, sarcasm alert!) No! Elected officials would never ever be influenced by donations to their election campaigns

I noticed that detail when I previewed it before posting - really clear and sharp photo that captured the globe on that lamp.

Black Bear Inn sign and the Coca Cola with the Van Pelt pricing, too.

My home town in Ohio still had a few street lights similar to that, hanging over the middle of the street,
still in use in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
