Re: Speaking of North Korea...
Rock-on, Myron. The more viewpoints we hear/read, the more informed we can be. I have no idea what the definitive description of The Trump might be; I only have my bit of hope, the occasional positive thing to say to add to the conversations, here and elsewhere, and of course,
my hair-astonishment and derision.

He'll probably accuse the weather service of conspiring with Mother Nature (a known liberal...) to schedule everything like this to distract the world from his very important speech.

Re: Speaking of North Korea...
We all know anything is possible with DT. I missed the speech (I'm sure it will be on Washington Week and everywhere else this weekend), but my wife who can't stand DT, said it was a good one for him. At least he used a teleprompter, so it wasn't full of his grade school superlatives and delivery.
The whole world has been out of whack for quite a few years, even by modern standards, with leaders and people who feel very differently than most Americans do. IMHO the world is in a state of flux like we haven't seen since the 60's and a few other times since. So, maybe a whacked out, unconventional president is a good thing for this time in history. Obama seemed to be overwhelm and ineffectual dealing with these types of world problems and he was a very disciplined and calculating leader. And, it's apparent much better men and presidents than DT, throughout history, have been overwhelmed by world circumstances and made huge mistakes during times like this. So, let's keep our fingers and toes crossed he doesn't do something incredibly stupid.
We are living in very distressing and scary time.

It's amazing easy to be critical of past presidents until you actually sit in that chair in the Oval Office and are confronted with what has to be one of the worse jobs on the planet. Everybody wants something, wants you to solve every problem for them and few can actually be made truly happy by your actions, and no matter what you do at least half of your own country hates you. You really have to wonder why anybody that's actually sane would want the job.
So, let's keep our fingers and toes crossed he doesn't do something incredibly stupid.

Yes, that question has crossed my mind many times in past decades.I don't know what motivates someone driving for that office. They certainly have something I thankfully don't have. So, let's keep our fingers and toes crossed he doesn't do something incredibly stupid.

We've had the Middle East, Russia, S. America, China, and NK on the table for decades and also countries that gained nuclear capabilities along with all the handwringing that comes with that transformation. More people than ever before running around around, hands in the air, screaming....instead of mature adults quietly doing their jobs....and a lot of them have departed.
And we are seeing fewer and fewer of the adults willing to step up and do the hard work, carry the heavy loads, and perform the service that this country so sorely needs.
There's no real rewards here and you have to contend with a never ending stream of elected gimboids that have to preen in front of cameras feeding their egos, posturing, and then doing just enough to protect their incumbency...
My clock is rapidly counting down.

North Korea’s Kim plucks teen sex slaves from schools and executes musicians with anti-aircraft guns, defector reveals
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/09/20 ... veals.html
In what heinous example, she recalled standing in a crowd of 10,000 people assembled to watch the execution of 11 musicians who allegedly made a pornographic video. Security guards ordered the viewers to leave their classes and stand in a stadium around the men, who were tied up and gagged.
“What I saw that day made me sick in my stomach. They were lashed to the end of anti-aircraft guns,” she said. “A gun was fired, the noise was deafening, absolutely terrifying. And the guns were fired one after the other.”
She added: “The musicians just disappeared each time the guns were fired into them. Their bodies were blown to bits, totally destroyed, blood and bits flying everywhere…and then, after that, military tanks moved in and they ran over the bits on the ground where the remains lay."

Re: Speaking of North Korea...
Somewhere in this thread someone posted that Kim Jong was (paraphrased) "elected so his people must feel the same as he does". I think the above post shows his subjects (not citizens) are scared to death of him and will clap and applaud anything the monkey does. In the limited vocabulary of our fearless leader, "He's a bad, bad man, who does bad things and needs to be replaced....pause....badly".

So what should be done when the world has these types to contend and/or live with?

No idea - it's never anything but ugly and all too frequently it does get worse when a dictator gets deposed and the next dictator turns out to be no better and all too often worse. Look at the messes in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Venezuela, etc.....

Why not just go ahead and admit that for some people Trump will never co anything right just as Obama and his predecessors couldn't either?
