Just came up for a breather. Pulling and soldering wires and feeds.
Going to drill and reconfigure the control panel soon.

The new junction is laid. Including a crossover. Screwing it down, then wire it up. Wiring is there, just have to solder to the rails.
Here is the original layout from 30 years ago I started tearing into:

Sort of like a rough sketch of a schematic. Now I will go make it better.

What happens on the lower side of the new layout?
It is cut off.

That's the "new" section of the basement...photos of which I posted earlier.
I still have some realignment to do to get the new main fully pulled over. If you follow the main down the right side of the drawing, the next crossover which has to be lifted and angled, is there. I did the new junction at the top of the drawing near the door (just to the left of door and bridges) on purpose to allow functioning of the old main until I am ready to shift the other end.

Still have some screws to put in, wires to solder, about three full sections of track (1.5 per main) to finish the connection to the left of the crossover.

As soon as the track is all screwed down and I clean the construction stuff off, I'll get some new photos.

It looks as though that could be a fun junction to operate. It looks prototypical. Be careful.

yeah...be careful is right. There are safeties built into this. When the bridges are out, all tracks are dead past the crossover. No power until bridges are in and plugged up.
Keeps one from dumping equipment into the ravine.

Wired the blocks into the junction, plus grounds. Dropped the bridges into place, test ran light engines from branch tracks, through junction, onto main and bridges.
