Look again. Only the B unit is "dual powered". The 2 A units have no driven wheels under the cabs as I don't think a tower would fit if there is an interior.

You are correct - I am in error and need a bigger monitor......

FWIW, earlier today an all-wheels-powered NW2 with bad Milwaukee Road paint quickly sold for $80 buy-it-now:

Might be a good buy - just the drive transmissions alone were going for $45 and up. I could have used them.....

Thanks for pointing that out Bob -- I didn't realize the GM had different power trucks than the AN. That explains why the same seller wants more ($110) for a single truck powered AN than he/she wanted for the all-wheel powered GM.

Just so we are clear as mud here. This thread is about F units. The discussion has morphed to GM-vs-AN drives, yet the photos and discussion are NW based.
The NW drives, yes, MOST GM seemed to have the vertical motor in the hood end, and no provision for powering cab end. Not so in the F units.

I have both style drives in NW and 600 horse units. Both in 2-rail and in 3-rail. I even have somewhere an NW with horizontal motor and one truck powered.

My eyes are such that the prescription for my reading runs ~$300..... My vision is "complicated".

And, I'm pretty sure that glasses won't move the monitor at all.
