WAITING FOR THE TRAIN
Re: WAITING FOR THE TRAIN
Wayne, It comes from Debrecen Hungary. They have blue trams, pretty blondes and brick sidewalks. You can see tram 502 in this photo.

Re: WAITING FOR THE TRAIN
The photos of the part of Hungary shown here seem to be of a country that has NEVER seen any affects of war of any kind.
How did they do that? Very selective photographs being shown? Looks like a wonderful place to visit or live.

Does your part of Georgia still look like a Mathew Brady photo, Roger?

Strangely enough there are some places around that still show touches of that "war of northern aggression" that ended 152 years ago but will not be
forgotten. There were still some conflicts in Hungary @ 50 years ago. I am sure they are remembered but the photos shown do not make the past
as important. I do not believe in forgetting history. Of course this might also be the same type of thing that I seem to see in magazine photos of
Savannah. Seldom does an up close and personal visit to Savannah (or many other cities) match the published photographs.

Looks as if you could prove that the removal of streetcars led to the demise of the downtown business areas.

No, it was the steel mills leaving that did the dirty deed.

I grew up in Whittier, and we had a battle there in 1847. It is known as the Battle of Rio San Gabriel. It was the decisive battle in California of the Mexican-American war.

Thank you Robert. How did you know that?
I see from your links the blue tram is a Ganz, KCSV–7 and there are 11 of them numbering from 500 through 510.

Blonde does not seem to be the predominant hair color in Debrecen but beautiful women are definitely the rule.
