Hudson on Ebay
Here we go with another one. This one has a reserve. It is "rare" and in this case I agree. I like it. The listing says 2 rail: note the center rail pick-ups; and the AC DC plug receptacles. Maybe it swings both ways.

Be careful. These are replicas of the Lionel 700E, done in pewter castings. Pewter is not necessarily bad, but I would say better to look for a 1-700E at around $400, or if you want a 2-rail model, a Williams die cast repro at around $200 plus whatever Joe charges to 2-rail the drivers.

Sorry, I meant to provide a link, but had a senior moment. In other words "the devil made me (not) do it".

Thanks to Steve for posting this (really glad you're here dude) and Arthur for posting the "linque"
Nice looking engine, though the though tender seems like the trucks centers are too far in or is it just too short?

Re: Hudson on Ebay
I'm confused. Header says it's brass and two-rail. Yet the tender has centre rail pickups.
Why does the bottom of the tender say "Adams"?
And why does the loco not have matching centre rail pickups?
I see some brass where the paint has perished, and some white metal for similar reasons.
It's like it has a different tender, yet it claims in the ad original boxes and foam inserts.
And yer right...the trucks are not right in position. Pivots for one thing are on the wrong side of the centre axles...makes it go around sharp curves better, but looks silly.
Turne....oooops...Opinion

Re: Hudson on Ebay
Or did some PO just slap pickups on the tender to run it on three rail..which probably means a rectumfrier or reversing unit installed.
Which would explain the repositioned truck kingpins for three rail usage.
Still...did the manufacturers copy the Adams and Sons tender from somewhere to do this?
I don't remember ever seeing that on any Lionel version.

I shouldn't say anything here, as I know nothing about this kind of stuff, but...those wheel flanges look awfully small for 3 rail, don't they?

Did you notice the hairball coal bunker extension out of that looks like bondo?
Ah HA! I see tho sets of wires with black plugs at the back of the cab...one you can see the markings..."DC".
Well, bids are at 102, probably what it's worth.

Depends on your track and rails. Tubular, no way. Flat topped and properly gauged, yes.
It's a hairball.
I'd own it for less than a hundred, delivered, as it's going to take some work on that tender.
But the seller has all the key buzzwords, so it'll go for $700

Re: Hudson on Ebay
I originally looked at just the ad. Thus my comment about Hudson Products and pewter.
The tender does look like Adams or All Nation. I cannot identify the locomotive, but note that it is a J-1d, and not at all a Lionel repro. It does not match the picture on the box.
So I am going to call it NOT Hudson Products. The boxes are the only authentic part. Unlike Dave, I would skip it, and save my pennies for a good 1-700E.

Take note of the Seller's addition to the auction:
On Mar-10-17 at 08:02:23 PST, seller added the following information:
This is actually a 3-rail hudson. It runs perfect forward and reverse.

Actually, as I stated earlier, it's both two and three rail.
NOBODY else sees the carp work on the tender? Really?
Bunker side extension...where it is moved what, two inches to the rear over the water deck?

Less than a hundred, and I'd play with it. It has already surpassed that, so my bid paddle is down.
It really does not match the box picture at all. Not sure what the extra "dome" is behind the steam dome on the model...not shown in the photos...and see the photo lacks the feedwater heater..but the model has it....and silver valve gear on photo, black on model....
