To clarify the stupid street fight with a relative stranger. He had what I guess was an axe handle or some such hunk of wood. He kept it hidden until he struck me in the face. Although I'm a decent boxer, I've never been able to take much of a blow to the head, so I was forced to kick out his knee. My point? Rage leads to nothing good. Kindness, compassion, goodness, thoughtfulness, consideration and empathy. That is the teaching of the deity. She is getting pissed at me for my anger. I don't blame her.

The fight had nothing to do with Merlieg's poems. Just saying, it's been a very tough winter, so forgive my outburst.

Exactly what actor Sam Elliot said as the character "Wade Garrett" in the movie Road House. "You give me the biggest guy in the world, and you take out his knee, and he's goin' down". Paraphrased, but it was somethin' like that.

As much as I like it and agree that it's cool, I'm also thinking that it's a good way to break some more toes,

Is that in a rec room, In a shrine to the most indulgent and understanding wife on Earth, or in a bachelor-pad? :D I love the contrast - juxtaposition - between the table and the colors and textures of the carpeting and sectional sofa around it.

Industrial furniture is all the rage these days. Even kewler is a rotary aircraft engine. All the hipsters have one. What's holding you back?

In my house, a coffee table like that would be understood as just one more instance of my infatuation with all things railroad.

1. Hernia placing it
2. Slipped disc(s) moving it
3. As Rufus said: broken bloody toes stubbing the rail ends
