Well now , those folks know how to wait for a train!
And have you ever seen the Japanese board and disembark , both at the same time , from a train like a subway?

Watching the following videos can bring on severe attacks of claustrophobia.

Nice crowds of people, both riding and waiting--goes to show that there are still places where
railways haven't been reduced to mere insignificance...

One wonders if the crowd riding on the "outside" matches or exceeds the crowd riding "inside".

...And where are the people waiting trackside going to ride? Surely not everyone on board
arriving is going to disembark? Or is this where things "get REALLY crowded"?
Take care,
Wolfgang

If I may ask, Wayne, aside from seeing that first photo you posted to start this thread, did something happen in your life to inspire you to author this idea here? Murph

What I had in mind was adding a Railroad Subject that had not been covered in Model Train Journal (or any other toy train forum that I know of.)

May I ask, why aside from first image?

Oh I thought maybe you found yourself at such a station, alone, in your travels, and found the moment poignant or personally moving. Then, when you came across that photo, it crystallized the whole experience for you. Somehow.

Not close. I always traveled with my wife, driving or by airline. Even took her on business trips. The wives would get together and see the sights in all the cities we visited. Here is my wife about to consume her first Chicago Hot Dog at Chicago O'hare (waiting for the plane to Toronto, not the train.)

Her expression looks puzzled, almost saying, "What is this? (It's not what I anticipated.) Here, you can have it if you want it."

Murph - Ever seen a Chicago-style dog? It looks like somebody emptied the salad bar on top of it. That said, they are wonderful.

Mary liked it so much, she wanted to get another one. They were calling our flight just as we finished our dogs, so I nixed seconds.
