Don't try to give me any more ideas, Mitch. I already have an 8 1/2 x 10 1914 Frick engine.

Hey! You just gave me a great idea. Why don't you and Dirt and any others on here come on down and help me give the Frick a badly needed paint job? Paint is on me. When done we can try out some of the 5 or 6 whistles I have. Might even let youse guys take the throttle and do some high speed (3 mph wide open) turns. The steering ratio is real fast, about 60 turns lock to lock! Think it over!

He is an inspiration, to be sure, because he certainly had a good ol' time of it. He spent his time as an individual, it would appear. I'd like to learn from his example.

Wow! $150 worth of gas in the Ram, and $50 more in tolls, just to be rewarded by slapping some paint on a 102 year old tractor. I'll schedule some vacation time ASAP! Can't wait!

Thanks very much Mitch. Let me know what your schedule is and I will reserve you a room at a local motel. It's cheap but not too bad otherwise. They even rent the rooms for as long as 8 hours!!! :P

Wow! When I was talking about a steamer at R&T, I was guessing 30-36. Holy sh*t! It's a tractor, AND an exercise plan!

Tony, I'll swap you the labor for a small bulldozer. Got a bulldozer in your arsenal? Need a bulldozer. You could throw it on a trailer and pull it up here with your Model A. Got a bulldozer, I'm in.

 :D

No problem Dirt. You got your choice of a 1956 Cat D7 with a 12 ft blade or a JD 1010 with a 5 foot blade.

Just a couple problems...The Cat must weigh around 15 tons plus a 1 ton+ blade. The gas JD has a worn out right turning brake, so it prefers to turn only left. It's only about 2 tons.

Operator and fuel on me. Transportation is on you!

Hmmm... maybe if I 'thumb' it on down, I could just drive the sucker back up to Pa.
If I need to make a right turn, I could just take 3 lefts.
Sounds do-able to me.

Is it ready to be painted?? Might be a good exercise for my somewhat overly artistic daughter to spend a bit of time on....

She managed to get college AP credit in Art (Art Dept at her HS was stunned - no one gets AP credit!) and was trying to squeeze in an Art History minor while getting a Psych degree with a Chem minor; she spent a summer taking an art course where she basically was one of those kids you see at the art museum sitting in the hallway with 3 sketchpads and supplies in tow. She was and still does use 2-3 different film cameras and was doing her own developing while in high school - she'd just take off with a camera or two to see what she could capture on film - B&W, of course. She explored reverse painting - I gave her Lexan instead of glass.... She does a lot of my Adobe Illustrator stuff for me.... While she is at home with the artist's brushes and paints, she's not bad with a 4" brush up on a ladder, too. She does stuff rather well that I have to work at to achieve marginal. She's also the one that was putting together the 500 piece puzzles on the kitchen table w/o looking at the box cover.....

I like getting her eye's take on my scenery efforts..........

Perhaps I was experiencing the Art interest and talent as a distraction from her initial Med School objective to the extent of just getting the Art History degree............and then a job at McDonalds.

Then again, I also walked away from the Med School pathway, albeit far, far later than she did....

She has, however, laid claim to my tractor...............and a bottle of mustard relish.....

Well, with the exception of some re-pointing in a few spots and a good scrubbing with muratic acid, the patio project is in the books:

The addition of slave labor was helpful. She felt a bit of boasting was warranted:

Hoorah! Fourth of July festivities will include a ceremonial first spilling of the beer.
