Healy, I'll second that.....great stuff. When the Cub Cadet starts to act up I dump some in and it straightens right out.

Re: Hobo Jungle
Too hot for working on the patio today (I know, after all that crying about rain and no sun), so headed out on a few errands this afternoon and took the camera:
From the "ran when parked" category, this Morris Minor was spotted just a few blocks from the house:

Ninety-five and hazy...looking west from Parr's Ridge:

Good day for laying blacktop, unless you're the guy that has to do it:

Looking west toward Union Bridge from the old campus of Blue Ridge College:

That's my daughter's middle school in the center of the picture...she's a first-year sixth-grade math teacher. In the distance is the Lehigh Portland Cement Company.
The former Old Main of Blue Ridge College, now SERRV:

Old grain silos in New Windsor...that's the old Western Maryland main-line in the foreground:

For some reason I think of Murph when I look at this picture.
Vintage Restorations in Union Bridge...stopped by to see John and the guys but they'd knocked off for the day. Too hot to be synchronizing triple-carbs:

Looking west toward Catoctin:

An old truss-bridge over Big Pipe Creek:

Big Pipe Creek...looks a little muddy:

Meade's tentative position for blocking Lee's advance was anchored on Big Pipe...until Heth and Buford collided at Gettysburg about ten miles up the road.
Western Maryland main-line at Middleburg:

That signal appears to be operating, or at least illuminated. I thought Maryland Midland had deactivated all of the old signals. Hmmm...
Lots of room to tie up the horse and carriage at Middleburg United Methodist:

Crouse Mill, one of many that still stands in Carroll County:

Not a big fan of vinyl siding, but it looks good here.
Here's a front-yard that even Hev could love:

Winnebago for sale:

Historic plates? Really?
That's it...hope you guys have a great weekend.

Healey, I've said it before-.... love your photo essays!
But you know what? Screw the patio project. Here's something so much more worthy.
Pour the concrete, add a roof, move these little beauties over, and get to work!
Your wife loves you. She'll understand.

Don't be daunted by the missing manifold and the cylinders open to the rain. Just a very minor extra challenge.

Re: Hobo Jungle
Better yet, I could just move in here. Looks like I'd have to get the satellite-TV service restored though, and probably trim up the shrubbery so I could get to the front door. I'm with you Dirt...you have to look past the issues to see the possibilities.

The Jungle is a good place. Think about it. All these years. Healey, I agree with Dirt—the photo essays are the total woolly crab!
That a life will be spent gaining inches,
When this distance is read in miles.

The above photo looks like a good candidate for a Murph Insta-Rama.
Also agree with the above that like the "photo essays". They are always ,
at least to me, very enjoyable. They may become part of someones photo
history someday.

Thanks, all of you. I enjoy driving and taking pictures...it's great to have folks to share them with.
Tomorrow, back to the brickwork...

Re: Hobo Jungle
Always a pleasure to ride around with Healey through his camera.
So, what's the story behind the Minor? Seems a real waste if it is just sitting out in the weather.
Looks like a late '60s Bronco sitting there too; my first four-wheel drive was a '66 with a 289 and three-on-the-tree. I still remember the turning radius was so tight you could easily nose it; could turn around on a residential street without cutting.

For a change of pace, an update on the two Manx kittens that have "moved in". You might remember the original intro of these littermates, one bob-tail and one with a full tail. They are about six months old now.
First up, since this is the internet, the obligatory (and highly misleading) cuteness photos

When they are awake, the house fairly rocks with unbridled enthusiasm and mayhem.

The big guy is Hobbes. It's fascinating to watch the interaction between the girls and this 22lb tom. He is the Headmaster, teaching them the ways of being cats, calmly keeping between them and the other adults, and teaching them how to interact with the other adults. If anything goes just a bit awry, he shows up quickly and throws his weight wherever it might need be thrown. Otherwise he is the calm and patient teacher; an amasing thing to watch and fun to record on camera, since many wouldn't believe such social interaction would really exist with cats.

In spite of the size disparity, he is firm but oh so gentle when they need behavioural suggestions or just play (which is a valuable teaching tool).
As Mitch knows with the Dane pup, springtime is even more fun with new and young animals in the house.

Re: Hobo Jungle
The consequences of cheap cat food. Until now a classified research study over at DARPA.

Just for the record, Sarge is currently exploring launching a cat into space...........while re-opening their use as offensive weapons....

The owls may indeed not be what they seem but still serve an imperative function: they remind us to look into the darkness.
