I was thinking the same thing when I posted the image... a botanist's and zoologist's wonderland. I wonder how many undiscovered plants and creatures are out there?

At the Slug Bug Ranch, a few miles east of Amarillo, there are bugs that stick their noses in the panhandle dirt, why no one knows.

If you believe that any news agency actually adheres to that quote, you really need medication to rejoin reality.

I don't know about that paper-wraps-rock thing, but I do know:

Seventy years tomorrow D-Day. I've been blessed to know a number of 29th Division vets over the years, and I've had the chance to visit Omaha beach. Can't begin to imagine...

Well, I believe one news agency to be several cuts above the others, so, apparently I am deranged. However, I cannot afford medical care to buy mind altering drugs so I guess I'll die a crazy man.

Just watch all of the network news commercials - you'll get plenty of advise on what pharmaceuticals to ask your doctor about..... I watch the BBC news now most of the time - better commercials and lots less bias one way or the other although I think there's a good bit of amusement by our antics....

Funny how70 years make a difference. Then 14 plus Countries came together and put down a couple of Mad Dogs. IMHO. Today no one can get anyone in Washington DC to do a damn thing but point fingers at one another! IMHHO

Still true--science is telling us the universe is expanding, but some galaxies have been overcome with attraction for each other (due to gravity) and have changed their wandering outward journey to join up in a happy union.

Astronomer Bart Bok taught at the University of Arizona. I went to one of his public lectures where he proposed, "If there is enough mass in the universe, expansion will slow, stop, and reverse. The collapse of the universe might result in a new big bang." The oscillating universe theory.

Learning that Andromeda and Milky Way galaxies have found attraction for each other reminds me of Professor Bok's lecture.

I thought that theory (Hoyle) had pretty much been dropped a long time ago?

But, here's one to make your head spin a bit:

Osmosis Skincare's UV Neutralizer Harmonized Water uses purified water "imprinted with unique vibrational waves which isolate out the precise frequencies needed to protect you from UV rays,"

The company lists the ingredients as "Distilled Water, Multiple Vibrational Frequency Blends."

Naw, it is still a good theory. The students that took the hint from Prof. Bok wrote their thesis on the subject, all concluding there was not enough mass in the universe to pull it back together. But, there are still a few "missing mass" astronomers, or soon to be astronomers, i.e. students looking for a thesis subject, to keep the theory alive.

I have my own theory about the subject. If I can find my reference on "tired photons" I will write a couple of lines about the size of the universe and impending collapse.

Reminds me of when I used to work on movie scripts as a "historical consultant". I think we discussed this some years ago, but the acronym was ITBH. It meant "Insert Techno-Babble Here". An example would be:

<Explosion>
Chekov: What was that!?
Spock: It would appear there was a temporal rift [ITBH] the Klingons.
Kirk: Makes sense to me. Let's get the hell out of here.

Then there is the excellent science done with respect to rheumatism and iron or copper bracelets that harness the power of the Earth's energy.

...as an example.

Brilliant stuff, this.
