Everything about that Lamyong Vegetarian Ham is confusing. I guess anything with an indescribable taste... "tastes like chicken."

Ingredients: Water, vegetable oil, textured Soy Protein (27%), whey protein, wheat flour, salt, soy sauce, vegetarian seasonings.

Lamyong Vegetarian Health Food,
6/189 Woodville Rd
Villawood, New South Wales
Australia 2163

Jodee Berry case: Talk about no sense of humor, the look on her face is priceless.

The restaurant's manager, Jared Blair, has said the whole contest was an April Fools' joke.

Hooter's settled with Ms. Berry for an undisclosed amount. "She's satisfied with it," said her attorney, David Noll. Berry can now go to a local car dealership and "pick out whatever type of Toyota she wants."

Does such "food" have a point? I don't get it and have yet to find myself in line for it. But then again, I don't "get" Spam or balogna (sp?) either despite my PA mill town roots (where I even ate Velveta and army-surplus cheeses back in the 40's & 50's.)

We've all had dealings with this sort of machine, but generally before the sign was added....

Murph,

One "point" is such stuff as Vegetarian Ham adds variety to those who don't eat meat. Another "point" is to replace protein we normally get from meat. Soy is relatively high in protein. Protein is the reason that soybeans have historically been called "meat of the field" or "meat without bones."

When I had my first angina attack (1997) I became a vegetarian that day. Two weeks later, after my first angiogram, the cardiologist said, "Your case is too complex, we can do nothing. Become a vegetarian and hope for the best." I had been a vegetarian for two weeks at that point. What helped me stay a strict vegetarian was the real time image burned into my memory of blood bouncing back from 100% blockages in my right and left coronary arteries and hearing the cardiologist mutter, "I don't understand, he should be dead." Eight years later, I had another angiogram because the cardiologist was puzzled how I could still be alive. The blockages had opened up from 100% blocked to 75% and 80% blocked. Now that there were active arteries to bypass to he immediately referred me to a cardiac surgeon for quadruple bypass.

So, you can see another "point" for such stuff in my story Murph.

Huh??

I grew up eating all sorts of bologna and still stop at the same store that grandparents shopped; probably 6-8 variations of "lebanon bologna" in the deli at any time, and if I'm passing through and I don't bring some kind back for my daughter, I'm toast. A pound of the smoked sweet honey bologna gets me a happy girl when she's home from college.

That's what we call, "motivation".

Yes, too many times. At work I was a regular at asking the vending machine company for my money back, until one day...

I pressed the coin return and hit the jackpot--a bit over $8 in change. Since they had been refunding my money for years I paid them back by not asking for a refund from bad machines for several years.
