Re: Hobo Jungle
Humidity aside, I wouldn't want to live in Arizona for any reason and I certainly don't appreciate their state or local politics, elected state officials, or police departments. I'm originally from Southern California and when I was growing up as a kid in the late 1940's early 1950's we always considered people from Nevada and Arizona country bumpkins who didn't have enough common sense to get out of the hot sun. And when their supply of drinkable water finally runs out they'll all wish they chose to live elsewhere!

At least ten. Roy's is just my favorite.

with 20% humidity and Phoenix was @45%.
It is our rainy season. High humidity happens every July.

Why thank you nycollector, what a lovely thing to say. I moved here from So Cal in 1971 and like the country atmosphere. Cowboys are the nicest people. I met my wife here. She spent her early childhood on a cattle ranch. She became a nurse and was no country bumpkin.

Re: Hobo Jungle
Roger, frankly I think you and Wayne are living in a political fantasy. Politics in Arizona, to say the least, is without question white elitist (racist), anti-immigration, and anti-American. With the notable exception of Democratic Representative Gabrielle Giffords and a very limited number of Democrats in the Arizona State Assembly, Arizona has unfortunately become a political haven (cesspool) for the NRA and racist right-wing Tea Party members - one can only hope for a plague on both of these 'groups'.
On the plus side the famous liberal American architect Frank Lloyd Wright's summer residence is located at Taliesin West, near Scottsdale, AZ. The residence still exists and is a major tourist attraction and architectural school to this day. Mr. Wright must be turning over in his grave at the thought of modern day Arizona politics.
So what does any of this have to do with today's model railroading - absolutely nothing, except I think we all need to be reminded of the viral political cancer alive and well in Arizona.

nyc---.
I think that you must be the one who brought up politics.
Wayne and I were talking about the weather ala "coffee pot".
You introduced the name calling.
I don't participate in the name calling stuff on purpose.
I'm sure you could go back and read my posts over the time
I have participated on MTJ and find something that I said.
Unless it involves AlanH I'm sorry I said it.

It is good that you are able to provide any positive recognition to the younger ones.

Re: Hobo Jungle
Almost every day has been assigned a theme where the nation can come together to do the same things. July 26 has been designated National All or Nothing Day.
What is an All or Nothing Day?
An All or Nothing Day is a day when a person decides that he is going to take risks and live on the edge. He decides to live like it is his last day on Earth.

You guys are either up early, like me, or up late. I am going back to bed, I did not mean to wake up this early.

I am up early and late. Just keeping my head above the avalanche of data and publications that I need to read requires it for survival in the publish & perish world
