Indoor and outdoor RR's ok so far. The only casualty so far was my flagpole out front. Winds are from 40-80 mph!!! Sure could use a cold beer, but our unit has been activated and is on standby to come in!!!!

Marty, it's okay to joke, but don't kill the guy. We like him.

Marty, if Jon thought that you thought that if he were a captain he would let the beer wash overboard, it might kill him. Jon would NEVER allow the beer to wash anywhere but down a throat. Right, Jon?

Ah, I see now. I would never intentionally have Jon jump in the soup.

Jon, you OK down there? I'm here at the water line looking for your snorkle.

We're wondering from up here too. Watched the eye drift right over the length of Missip' last night.

Hoping at worst, your MOW guys only have branches to clean up.
At best, you're unscathed, and you can count it as your September bath, and the hobo won't need another 'til October!

I suspect his guard unit called him up in view of the circumstances. Hope the family and homestead are on high ground.

Jon, wherever you are, I'm lifting a beer to you, brother.

Jon's location appears to be pretty much right under the swath of the evil thing. Phone lines are down, 95% of schools in the area do not have power, so I imagine that the rest of the infrastructure is shot. I don't expect he'll get out on a dial up, DSL, or cable line any time soon. I called several times and the phone company indicates outage due to the hurricane. I did some real time overhead imaging of the area at work and it does not look good. There does not seem to be the flooding as is occuring in N.O, but, the winds whacked at lot of stuff. I don't think we have seen the last of the effects.

If Jon is out on National Guard duty, I pray for his safety, security, dilligence, and effectiveness of mission. There is a lot of need in the area and this may be the situation for a while. God bless you and keep you safe, Jon. Godspeed in your mission.

Meanwhile, I hope for the safety of the family. ###### (Jon's wife's name obliterated for security reasons), you and the boy are in our prayers and close to our hearts.

As footage rolls in, the damage and devastation across all three states is absolutely stunning and appalling. I cannnot begin to imagine the misery and suffering, and wish I had the resources to pick up and go down and help. Your heart has to go out to everyone down there. What a tragedy, and of such colossal proportions.

But God, I wish we could hear from Jon, if for no other reason than to know that he and his family are OK.
