Hev:

By the way, how the heck are you doen? Hope your getting around better now. How long has it been since you came home? I wanna come out and see ya, but I don't know where ya live since ya moved. Maybe after the weather warms up we can get together.

I imagine others are still at it, Hev. 2:00AM Sunday morning I woke up sick as a dog, with a bad case of the drizzlers and pukin', some kind of stomach bug. I was down and out for the count all day, but I did watch. Sad 'cause we had beer and wings and deep fried mushrooms, and homemade jalepeno nachos and other stuff across the road at my son's house, and the old girl wouldn't even let me go over sick 'cause of the grandkids. Bummer! Things 'll probably settle down after the parade this week. :)

Yes I hope you don't have to go under the knife again. My Daughter in law had to go under the knife twice and I know she still isn't right, hope you don't have to go thru that. Yes hopefully we can get together when it warms up. I know where New Hollan is.

You hobos will never guess what I did today. But try. Here are some hints:

It's a new job.

I've never done it before.

It pays!

It's inside and warm.

I didn't get my hands dirty.

On another subject. Hev, hang in there and heal quickly. Spring is coming even if it doesn't feel like it.

Jon, bizarrely enough it does not involve alcohol. Until afterwards.

Editing a newspaper?

Modeling?

I don't know.

Tell us.

Soon.

I'm a college professor teaching advanced painting. Yesterday the school's secretary asked me what degrees I held so that she could verify them. I told her none. She looked a bit stunned. I didn't mention that I lacked even a high school diploma. Hey, even hobos gotta eat.

Well.I was half right,teaching.

Writing would not have surprised me and painting should not have.

I have read some of your writings and have visited your web site and looked at your art.

It makes sense.

No degrees?Big deal!Remember -BS=bull sh*t,MS=more sh*t and PHD=piled higher and deeper.I have the the first two and I know a lot of people with the third.

There aren't many of the most important ones around, the NS=no sh*t.

:D LMAO!! :D

While certainly not a truism, it just goes to show you that advanced degrees don't necessarily convey either skill, judgment, or common sense, and conversely, (especially in the fine arts), those self-taught can be magnificently accomplished.

We have a nurse who is a member of our 'flex pool', who has her Masters in Nursing, and who teaches at Pennsylvania College of Technology, but she is utterly useless as a staff-nurse when she works on my unit. She can't nurse her way out of a paper bag. The Redhead says she'd rather have a double-assignment than have to lead this lady around all day.
