That's my bookmark. No smug mug anywhere.
https://www.flickr.com/about when you click "about" at the bottom left...I see no mention of smug mug anywhere on the "about" page.
Click on Flickr Blog on left.
Takes you to:

It asks for my yahoo log-in. It accepts my yahoo log-in. NO place (yet) have I found smug mug mentioned.
I don't know. Almost like two different sites....one old, and something you see that's new.
I'd blame it on XP, but this one is XP-8.

Maybe. However, for the last number of years the Flickr page has looked like that, so one must pause and surmise that "the SmugMug.....page stylistically looks very much like.....the Flickr.... page"

Maybe? ToS are pretty clear that it's owned by SmugMug. Now why they have not changed the rest is a mystery or just laziness, or they are in no hurry, or next year they will roll out a whole new system for all we know. Roll your 12-sided dice and take a guess.
I can't say what the Flickr homepage ever looked like - until this week I never accessed Flickr that way - I always came in through one of my Yahoo groups.

Re: SMUG MUG PHOTOS has just purchased FLICKR PHOTOS
Hello Guys
SMUG MUG does definitely at present, and since May 2018, OWN FLICKR -- I have had written email communications with SMUG MUG Staff. If you, like myself, have a FLICKR account -- and paid close attention to the notices back in May and June by SMUG MUG that they bought flicker from VERIZON (who bought it along with Yahoo and AOL) - you will also remember suddenly seeing the SMUG MUG two round circle logos (what were they, apples??) in the top left corner of your FLICKR Page. Also a direct LINK to open the SMUG MUG site was installed.
Well, that icon logo and the link were silently and suddenly removed in recent weeks -- gone -- and all HELP sections revert you to Flickr- "Yahoo" Help pages for FLICKR now. And the link to this video was suddenly also removed from FLICKR homepages also --
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... 4B_qlaN8C4
Also, we still have to sign into YAHOO (via Verizon's OATH server) on our Flickr Site rather than having a new established sign in protocol via SMUG MUG. a real P I T A
I brought this up to the SMUG MUG staff in emails and was told (I saved the emails) that they are still working on it. Its a hard thing to resolve, fix, change -- and they are working on it.
Well, others in the "internet website" business I speak with think "maybe" SMUG MUG is possibly now having buyer remorse -- and perhaps that is why they have "separated" themselves fully from any "visible" connection with, and on, the FLICKR site. Who the heck knows...really !
The visual look of FLICKR we have now has NOT changed from what that Marissa Meyer (Yahoo now ex-CEO) - and her staff, did to create the "look" of the FLICKR page format many years ago - as we now still see it under SMUG MUG. Nothing there has changed visually.
As far as FLICKR goes... nothing seems to have been changed, upgraded, improved, or anything, at all in the 4 months SMUG MUG has "owned it" .
Any comments ??!!
regards - Joe F

No changes ='s probably overwhelmed.
I had a Flickr account and found it at best cumbersome to use and when Photobucket exceeded my tolerances, I moved to SmugMug; have not looked back and really have written off Flickr.

It looks like Flikr is going to limit free accounts to 1000 photo's now? I have more than that on there. Good grief.

Things happen after getting sold to a for profit operation.

So. Isn't making a profit being a commercial enterprise part of the American capitalist way - build a business and make a profit? Or, did everyone of the entitlement socialist herd get spoiled using Flickr for free and expect that would continue forever?

There is no dilemma - pay up....but wait, you don't have a camera and so no pictures from you, so there's really no dilemma for you at all,

What, me worry? Actually, I have a digital SLR, but I haven't had (or taken) the time to mess with the thing. It is way low priority. I used to be pretty decent with the old T-50. Not a pro, but I did okay. I also have a digital cam that puts digital images onto 1.44 floppy discs. Cost a bunch back when, now an expensive paper weight! Used it for Feebay!

Now you do have a camera Low priority - hire a 6-year old to teach you how to use it.

It is funny how people reacted. You get a free product for a little while. Then when a company wants you to pay. They scream. Those Mfers want to charge me. Harry's razor sent me a few razors free through the mail. Now those sobs want me to pay for the next shipment. If you are using a free product. Then you are the product.
I spend entirely too many hours a day tying my shoes
