From the ridiculous (above) to the sublime - a private car. The docent was kind enough to let us go inside this private parlor car (meant to be towed). It has been fabulously restored.

Bamboo. Put in water and bent around a shaft and fastened in place. Pretty ingenious.

Cane (grass), a term for grasses with woody stalks like bamboo.
Cane (vine), the part of a grapevine in commercial viticulture that supports the new growth of shoots, leaves and grape clusters.
Rattan (palm), a term for roughly 600 species of old world climbing palms.

In 1913 the Milwaukee Electric Railway & Light Company devised a machine for making snow sweeper brushes out of Rattan.

Scranton Pa also has a trolley museum. It is open year round. Oct 29 was the last trolley ride for the year. Electric city museum.

The Electric City trolley museum may have shut down the trolley rides
a bit early this year..visited on September 21 for a ride (after managing
to go through Scranton on non-running days for several years ).
They informed me that they could not offer rides because a storm
sometime before had blown trees down on the ROW and the wires
were down "in places". They could not give me a date on when
they expected to be up and running again.

It is a nice ride through the tunnel and along the creek. My wife and
I saw deer alongside the trolleycar on one of our trips.

I think the dishes are in a private car.

Wow, a private trolley. That's what I want for Christmas!
