Not quite done with this one but close enough for now after swapping out the drive for a insulated drive for use on my layout. Pretty small and tight quarters on working space, but even with my fat fingers (and several long fine tweezers), ready to roll. Probably limited to 2 cars - pretty light and nearly all wood construction.

Very nice. Is this UERCo, as in United Electric Railways Company of Providence, Rhode Island?

I believe so - I bought this just liking the look of it - rather small unit knowing I had an insulated drive I could swap in - took some modifications to make it fit - slightly different configuration and I also added wipers to the trailing truck for better power collection.

Now I can get back to work on the boxcab on my bench,

Healey,
Some interesting photos. I suppose that equipment of that type looked pretty much the same around the country.
There were a few pieces of "work equipment" around my home area that I remember. Unfortunately the electric
part of the transit company was gone in 1945 or 1946. I always liked to ride the streetcars and hated the buses.

Oh, what was the sprinkler car used for?

Could be for keeping the dust down and/or weed control.

The smaller express freight car is something I could build given I have a suitable power unit for it.......somewhere,

Do like those side discharge coal cars! Wish I knew where to start looking for more info on those,

OK. There were a lot of unpaved roads and streets back then.

Yeah, I had the same thought re: the sprayer. I looked back at Harwood’s book on the H&F, but saw nothing similar. The H&F ran for long distances in the countryside, so I could see a need for weed control. I would think a line in Providence would be primarily urban.

I think that you could build a very reasonable model just based on that on photo.

Would require a lot of supposition on interior slopes and how those side discharge units are mounted/operate. But, I saved the photo to think about it - in the electronic file cabinet........

What did you use to power this car? I’ve got a repro Paya tin trolley I want to motorize, but I need to find a suitable power truck.

Oh, there's a Bowser drive under that body. You can find them on eBay now and again - there were some 3 rail ones for $50 a week or 2 ago.

Thanks; I’ll look for one of the 3-rail versions.

Been a while, but starting to build one of these or whatever it is that's really in the box:
