That's certainly a flimsy-looking bridge (which probably explains the support mid-stream). I have seen some of the early truss designs that used iron rods as structure members, which appears to be what this is. I suppose a trolley-line bridge doesn't require the capacity to handle the heaviest of loads.

I think so, or it's the various classes of the local school, or it's the alumni.

I wonder.........there are 2 trolley cars there and the poles on both look to be set to go away from the parade....

Yup, I see that now, and those folks seen inside appear to be exiting. Perhaps the trolley is delivering participants, along the lines of Roger's thoughts.

I see lots of lined-up people on the left stretching way past the rear of the trolley and apparently headed to the front . Too bad the forum software does not allow photo magnification.

Some of the steel mills used cars similar to that to transport ore to the furnace area. They had a name that I cannot recall.
