Recent Project MTH Brill Streetcar

Postby Nortonville Phil » Tue Apr 09, 2024 12:34 pm

About 12 years ago I found a basket case MTH Brill two truck semi-convertible car in the back room of a hobby shop. I was able to buy it for a fair price.
My original plan was to repower it with scale Q or Wagner drives. That day never came. So last year I decided to bite the bullet and just convert the MTH drive to scale profile wheels. This would make myself another runnable car. I removed the electronics as I wasn't sure how they worked, and didn't need them for DC running. Also opening up the interior allowed me to install an interior and people. The car is not completely finished as i still have some details to add and finishing touches such as window glass. The car is set up for power off the overhead.

Just a terrific car in my opinion. Curious, what do you plan to use for glazing? Some clear acetate?

Sorry for the long time in replying.

I plan to use some clear acetate that I have to make the windows. I’ve not done anything lately on my projects due to health reasons but hope to get back to it soon.
