Yes, no.

The tradition of designating June 14 as a national observance predates Truman. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation designating June 14 as “National Flag Day” to honor the adoption of the U.S. flag by the Second Continental Congress in 1777.

President Harry S. Truman signed an Act of Congress on August 3, 1949, that recognized June 14 as Flag Day, making it legal.

Yesterday, President Donald Trump added National Flag Week to the observance of Flag Day.

What he really wanted is the President Donald J Trump US Flag Day. Maybe they talked him out of it?
