All,

As you may know, DullCote is not exactly in strong supply. And, there have been problems with it coming splotchy out of the can. Several friends have reported their finished models ruined by DullCote behaving in this way. Add to that Rustoleum's ridiculous prices for the small can and I am searching for a viable alternative.

So, have you found something that works as well, is in ready supply, and costs the same or less?

George

I have a few but this has proven safe on all types of paint and hasn’t clogged the tip.

I also have Tru Color and Floquil flats plus Dull Coat in a bottle gives a flatter and even finish if you have an airbrush.

I'm with Norton. Stop wasting money on rattle cans of the stuff. Bottled Dullcote thinned with Testor's thinner shot from an airbrush. Far more reliable and easily enough in one bottle to replace five rattlecan's worth. The money you save will pay for a nice Paasche H.

krylon clear. threw all my dullcrap away 25 years ago. my situation is somewhat different, as dullcrap yellows and flakes in sunlight, and is porous. water goes through it and lifts decals.

Tamiya Flat Clear (TS-80). Nice finish, never clogs, works on enamels and acrylics.
