Lionel Scout Sets, Truths, Half truths, and Myths. Video
I came across this, well done and interesting. I have several 2-4-2's but with the metal motor so not really Scouts. Years ago I regularly went to TTOS meets and train shows and don't recall seeing Scout cars couplers at all. Didn't even know there was such a thing.

Was there supposed to be a link or something to see?

Thanks for that, guys...pretty interesting. I wish he'd run it out through the early 1960s. I have two sets often categorized as Scouts, both headed by plastic motored/boilered 2-4-2's, one a #242 and the other a #246. They both run pretty well, for what they are.
