That's what I'm thinking, although I doubt it'll make it through the tunnel/tree-stand as configured. Already thinking about making another one with a bit more clearance inside.

Hook the pole down; if it works, that could save you a bunch of work.

Definitely have to put the pole down, but I think there won’t be enough side-to-side clearance. I made that thing so it could handle six-inch four-wheel cars, not much else. This thing likely rubs the sides or gets wedged in there. Certainly will try it before I embark building a new one.

Sounds good. I had not thought about the trolley's width, only the height.

We’ll technically if the pole is flexible and you only go in one direction it could work out okay

Or for another 100$ or so you could have it RTR in On30. I mean if you don’t have more than one gauge, you haven’t lived

I have two of those (just the trolleys); they are quite nice models of an 1890s single-trucker. With a little bit of modification, an O gauge Wagner Brill 21E, for example, will fit right under the car; two quarter-round trim pieces hide the very slight extra width of the 212E. A motorman on the platform is definitely a must.
