I found the cars in one lot and then a few weeks later saw the engine and tender in another acution along with a set of chrome streak 618 & 619 cars and I didn't miss. They are all gunky but cleaned up pretty well with some Mothers Mag wheel polish. I still need to fin some proper insulators for the roller pickups on the turcks as these were butchered when I got the cars. Someone had but nuckles on the prewar turcks but luckily had not clipped the skirts on the car ends.

The loco and tender look great; are the passenger cars chrome plated or just painted with metallic silver paint? They don’t seem to have the luster of the loco and tender. Regardless, it’s a neat set and concept.

The cars are plated, Not sure if it was a home shop hack job or just a cheap shop job though. It actually looked like they did not even take the cars fully apart, they left the window strips and all the other details installed and ther was a haze around some of those points. They are nowhere near perfect, maybe not even good by some measurements, but tehy did polish up fairly good. Those are auction pictures of the cars and tehy were really dirty and hazy when they arrived. After the Mothers, they look about as good as the loco does I think. The most odd thing really is the fact that I was able to find the cars and a few weeks later the engine (with the 618/619 cars) from separate sellers and I was able to win both auctions. I only payed about $100 for the chrome 2613/4/5 cars but the I had to shell out a bit more for the engine and 618/619 cars partly because any 619 head end car just goes crazy on that acution site lol. But somehow I managed to get en both. They make a great set together.
