I'm thinking he's secretly installed a fireman's pole.

Thanks George. He ruled the roost and is very missed much. What a character!

Yes. They do capture our hearts.

Here are some photos of my old cats - Pumpkin and Samantha. Pumpkin was the Empress (Her Orangeness) and Samantha her underling.

Both sorely missed.

George,

A cat cannot have too many underlings............... which is all that we really are anyhow! Love them both. The orange ones can produce some wild eyes in photos can't they? Digressing a bit here but the one old cat we still have (Chessie, a gray) can walk around, over, and through the overhead wiring at the Trolley Park anytime she wants. My jaw is continually dropped when she does this. A toast: To Cats and all their Underlings!

I grew up around dogs and my Mom and grandmother weren't fond of cats (no idea why). I think the hardest thing to get over/around is that they aren't dogs and for the most part don't behave like dogs. Once you learn to read their behavior patterns they are astonishing and often very affectionate companions.

We had three over the years and cat number one was literally my daughters cat. She could wear him on her shoulder like a feather boa. Cat number two had been raised by a female golden retriever who imparted all sorts of mischievous behavior regarding food. Cat number three was a lap cat. She was small, sweet, and liked nothing better than to curl up in your lap and go to sleep.

Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?
