Yeah, alleged Lionel F unit. Open portholes, no nose grab holes, button top.
If I was to fathom a guess, a resin copy casting of a Santa Fe shell. You can still see the Santa Fe in the sides.
Look at the what appears to be resin casting flash in the cab windows, headlight, louvers, rear windows, portholes, rear mounting clip holes, and the horrible finish along the bottom edge of the cab.
Add to that at least a 1/8" bow in the shell.

So, did somebody go to the trouble to make a mold and cast these things from an original?
