Chassis more than complete engine

I looked closely at this one.
Obviously postwar, upturned sides on frame, handrails proper. Odd that one end is a fully operational coupler, the other a dummy.
Not something you see unless somebody has changed couplers or one truck.
Has a horn, so should have had (mostly) operating couplers. Two headlights and fuel tank, eliminates cheaper stripped down versions.
Most postwar Geeps you can buy cheaper than this chassis, complete.
If this one has some special provenance it should be stated (like, Lenny Dean designed prototype with one fixed coupler for evaluation).
