"Used. In excellent condition"

Uh, I think the front truck's missing. No, wait! It's there, looking pristine, but unattached.

And what did he do to the pilot?

Might end up being a reasonable rescue case IF there aren't any hidden fatal flaws (don't bet on that).

Hmm. What do you all think? (No, I'm not considering it  ).

"The pilot assembly is packed separately in the engine box along with the mounting screws and tool."

What did 3rd Rail sell these for?

I tried to go back and look at old 3rd Rail catalogues, but couldn't find one for the year the S-2 hit. It had to be somewhere well north of a thousand bucks.

Here's another one on eBay for a bit more money:

That seems more in line for most 3rd Rail stuff; thanks.

3rd rail steam sold for 1,200 to 1,400. I bought an s-1 for $1,249. I my memory is right. That was 1999-2000. Most of the seller's items are priced to move.

Yeah, after further review, this one's not out of line.

It appears to me that an operating coupler of some type has been put on the front.
I don't know this brand well enough to say.

I have dealt with that seller before, she packs quite well and ships quickly.

Still no bids...seems a bit strange. Maybe the history of the S-2, or non-history, weighs on its desirability.
