Another Aldafer auction.

Postby robert. » Tue Oct 13, 2020 9:08 pm

I lost a little respect for them this time. Can you see why? I was out bid today on a pre war set. That has nothing to do with the loss of respect in this auction

Here is the prewar set i was out bid on. I really did not need to spend the money and may have flipped it after the holidays.

I'm not understanding. You were outbid and Aldafer is the bad guy? Do you feel entitled to something you intend to flip??? It's an auction dude. Supply and demand principles at work. What you think it's worth doesn't mean shit to the next guy. Get over it.

Bad story telling on my part. Im fine with getting out bid. My problem is with their new auction. Nothing is sold with a box. Their last 2 items are 40+ lionel boxes and 30 + mth boxes. They took the time to remove every item for a photo. The refused to box it back up

Probably a way to make more money. Like selling tenders separately.

Looks like a reasonable auction of some trains. Expect a lot of this sort of activity now and in the future.

Spelled 'Alderfer' by the by.

Prices turned out to be fair. I still think they should have taken the time to match up boxes with items. They sold a 3rd rail 2-10-4. without a box. In one of the box lots . you can see the box belonging to it.
