to stop posting this stuff. But then I run across this. Wants actual money AND shipping for it, and doesn't know if prewar or postwar. Four flanged drivers and two axles gone. Armature gone. Brushes gone. E-unit gone. Siderods are gone. Does this one have brass axle bushings? They're gone. ALL screws are gone. Pickup rollers have Super-0 rot, unusable.
I have had some in the condition after stripping parts I need. Usually bad field. I throw them away.
Looks like the bearing hole in the brushplate is wore out. But it does have a 1487 bulb....if it's any good. At least it was a 14V bulb. No socket, wires soldered to bulb. Special.

Any clue, other than get somebody to pay me to take the trash out? Roughly ten bucks BIN, ten to ship. For twenty YOU can throw it away, an claim you were the "winner"!

Wow!!!! That's like 10% of a locomotive? I'm not sure there is enough electrical components to even classify it as e-waste. Maybe the solder on the light bulb?

Side note:

To be fair, this type of behavior isn't limited to toy trains or eBay. I went looking for a space saver toaster oven to replace our 40 year old Black and Decker unit we got as a wedding present. It's on i's last legs and there are no longer parts available. I tried a link on amazon to the last model that B&D had made. $400 dollars (as a "collectors" item). Does not include the under the cabinet frame for mounting. All I want is to make toast and not eat up counter space. I've never heard of a toaster oven as a "collectors item". Item when new retailed for about $50. I assume for $400 its new/mint in the box :)

Remember "Open a new bank account and get a free toaster"?
