I don't have an issue with marbled plastic components. I don't even have any issues with folks deciding these are collectible. I'd never purchase or own one.

The issue is the shell condition. You copied one photo..there were more. The shell shown has a crack running from lower left upwards to the right, clear to the coal pile. Frayed on the edges. Not glued as stated, at least not well.
If I recall, the screw standoffs underneath are all blown out, too.

That shell is quite literally junk. Yet, there it is on junkbay.

You can't see the beauty in marbled toy trains?
What an interesting way to turn junk to art.
If you don't like it then they are not for you. :D

The poor condition of some antiques is part of their charm. The seller has one that I judge as "Like new" for only $130.

Oh, yeah, saw all those others. Read what I said last time. I don't CARE. If someone wants to collect this stuff, good. Don't try to sell something that is junk. Busted, broken, blown out.

I always worry about plastics done like that. How well bonded together is the plastic, as compared to something made in one batch of one material?

I've seen the marbled grey whistle units that the screws blow out of.

The entire purpose of the posting was it's junk.
Get someone to PAY you to take something that should have just gone into the trash.
Yeah, that's a good business plan.

With the screws blown out, obviously it had a frame and wheels at one point.
Where are they?

Oh, yeah....increase your PROFIT by breaking stuff up!

It's absolutely brilliant; it's capitalism at its best. It's buyer beware, caveat emptor, and I quote, "It's morally wrong to allow a sucker to keep his money."

I have on more than one occasion been completely delighted to have someone pay me to ship my trash to them. Only in America!

Looks like someone barfed a candy cane in a wind tunnel.

I had a Lionel steamer when I was a young lad. Eventually the black paint started to wear off the tender, and the plastic underneath was that marbled color.

One for the "so what" file!

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

They used to have "Caveat Emptor" on all Fleabay auctions back when.

These throw-away cans are gorgeous. I'd like to see a plated tank car covered with such realistic vegetable graphics.
