Looks like a pretty fair attempt at the proposed PRR V1, though the running gear fails it as a representation. I do laugh a little since the one-of-a-kind moniker is untrue, though the seller would have no reason to know that.

A good friend of mine scratchbuilt a V1 in O scale; I photographed it for the “Keystone”, and there is an HO scratchbuild that shows up on an image search which looks pretty well done too.

I suppose this was the PRR's answer to Jawn Henry and others. Never heard mention of it before. Guess I've lead a sheltered life!

I vaguely remember a reference to it sometime in the past but since it was never made I had no interest.
Think it was like the B&O loco with an engine, or two, on each axle that was started and dropped rather quickly.

Roger, It is very similar to the N&W "Jawn Henry" which did make it into reality for a few years.

PRR V1? Hmm. I was unaware the Pennsylvania Railroad constructed a "vengence" weapon.
Were they going to use it on the New York Central?

Considering the German nomenclature for rockets in WWII, they might have been a bit more "sensitive", but then I suppose the Brits were affected by it a great deal more.

You might not be aware of it but the US took the V1 tech and refined in at test locations in the Florida panhandle launching rockets into the sea eventually loading a full complement on a ship (escort carrier?) to be used against the Japanese, but they never got used before the war ended. You can visit the site and launch areas near Destin.

obscure WWII era info....wait until you run into some guy at a Submarine Veteran's meeting who qualified submarines on a U-boat. Apparently we confiscated several complete examples at the end of open hostilities and used them for a while...training and research..one such was USS U-3008.

Wasn't aware of that! Only been to "Oldster H*ll" one time (as a late friend of mine called it). Never got into the panhandle.
