Weekend Photos - 11/08/2019

Not much happening here, distracted on other projects. I ran down some two-rail tinplate track to run the Bing mechanical set. Sarge had some Marklin which we sold a couple of years ago at York. I reached out to the guy that we sold it too and he still had it, and happy to sell it back to me for quite a bit less than he'd paid for it. Only six pieces of an eight-piece circle though, so I had to run down a couple. Found a pair on eBay from a guy in the Netherlands.

Early Marklin track is neat because it had an engineered track-clip:

The clip slides through a slot in the tie of the adjoining piece, holding it together. Leave it to the Germans.

Also found some replacement tires for this Dinky 152b Morris staff car:

If you were a fan of "Hogan's Heroes" you've seen a real one...it rolled through the show's intro every week, even occasionally showed up in an episode.

A couple months ago my daughter grabbed a shot of Maryland Midland rolling through Middleburg, Md. at dusk:

A pair of SD40M-2 heading a drag of empty hoppers returning from the interchange with CSX at Highfield.

Hopefully Christopher chimes in with a layout update.

Went to Fostoria and Deshler with fellow Hoosier rail-fans last month. Just a quick blast of pics. One of the more interesting things was the CSX Inter-modal facility located between those towns.. You can't get very close but you can see some things. Some of these trains were running up and downhill! Sorry.

Nice.
Interesting way to load logs on the flat car.
