Weekend Photos - 3/16/18

Happy Friday!

CSX ES44DC 5273 leads NS 201 under the soon to be removed N&W signals at Radford, VA on the Pulaski District
Image

NS SD70M 2602 leads 11K through East Conemaugh , PA on the Pittsburgh Line
Image

NS ET44AC 3627 leads an SD60E as they bring westbound 51Z through Shawsville, VA on the Christiansburg District.
Image

The sound of 3 hardworking NS units reverberates off the mountains as they lead Rutherford, PA bound 202 through a location known on the railroad fittingly known as ‘Solitude’.

Stunning composition on that last picture. There is a nice "S" curve to the image with the near ridge running to the rail line and then crossing back on the near side of the pond. Very pleasing to the eye.
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Thanks Chuck. It's VERY hard to get a train here in good light. Only 4 scheduled trains per day take this line. Waited a few years to grab this shot.
