...and get carried away! Some of these were three-rail and got converted to two-rail.

Is there more in the back seat? I see a "Later Gator" and an "Atlas O" back there. :D

The bridge article in your book looks interesting. Charles Ellet built the first suspension bridge across the Niagara in 1851. John A. Roebling used Ellet's bridge as a platform to facilitate construction of the first railroad suspension bridge in the world in 1855. Trains used the upper deck while Ellet's original lower level was used by pedestrians and carriage traffic. Must have been fun walking across the bridge while a train was using the upper deck. The little house at the entrance to the lower deck as a toll booth.

Here is an interesting view showing the stub switch and dual gauge track. The wider gauge is 5 ft, 6 to accommodate Ontario's Great Western Railway's broad gauge equipment.

How can McCord Museum copyright a photograph taken in 1869? All works published in the United States before 1923 are in the public domain.

You can water mark any photo. That does not give you any recourse if it’s used:

Just a thought....... Maybe it's because the image that's on-line is not the actual glass plate photo and something that the museum has had to create to make it possible to put on-line?

Wayne;

Aren't you being (perhaps unintentionally) a little bit "Ugly American"?

Its a Canadian image held by a Canadian museum.

You might well be right, but a look at the parametres for copyright, right-to-distribute, and fair use in Canadian law is warranted before passing judgement on these people, rather than assuming US law is somehow applicable in this circumstance.

All I'm going to say on the subject.

Might you be attending in April? I suspect that I will have at least 5 storage tubs of cars, structures, and "stuff" that you need.

Which one, beautiful or not so ignorant?

The committee is meeting in the Village to decide, but it looks like some of each.
