After all the lamblasting MTH fan boys tossed at Lionel for doing an SP AC9 in Daylight colors, MTH decides to do offer this abortion. Talk about painting the kettle black. This takes the cake.

Okay. Are you sure there was not a real Daylight with holiday lighting? At least one SP steamer does have such lights.

Not just "Light Emitting Diodes" but "Light Emitting Diode Lights" !!!

You can purchase them after putting your PIN number into the ATM machine...

So this is the next marketing push by MTH, lights on trains?

Can we order the traveling marquee light option? Will DCS control the speed of travel? How about the laser light show option?

And of course, I'm sure this has already been patented (lights on trains that is) because MTH invented that. As well as electricity. And trains.

Once you drink the koolaid, you can watch DCS control the speed of light. It's all in the book!

You naughty boys won't have MTH to kick around in the future. They are going Z scale only, rumor has it. Maybe a little (pun intended) N scale too.
They are using the technology from "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" to modify their bazillion tons of O gauge tooling. When is April 1st again?

It appears to be modeled after the holiday train SP 4449 pulls almost every year in Portland, Oregon. Considering how many people it probably introduces to railroading and steam locomotives every year, I don't see why this is a bad thing...

It's not a bad thing per se, just poorly executed. The real engine doesn't look too bad decked out that way. The model looks like it was done by Red Green and the boys at the Possum Lodge. The "miniature" LED's on the model would scale out to the size of the vanity globe lights on light bars in peoples bathrooms, aka 4".

I don't see why painting an AC9 or cab forward for that matter in daylight colors is such a bad thing. However, a good number of MTH foamers make it out to be pissing on the holy grail. That was my point.
