Picked up a few new engines this week & a 4 car set of the Bi Level NJT cars































NS Dash-9 9794 leads 173 southbound through Gainesville, GA on the Greenville District as it passes the Amtrak station & some local power


NS Dash-9 9654 leads 119 southbound through Harrisburg, NC on the Piedmont Division


NS SD70ACU 7326 leads 294 eastbound through downtown Altoona


NS Dash-9 9812 & an ex CR Dash-8 lead a westbound coal train through Capels, WV on the Pokey


NS SD80MAC 7207 (ex CR 4114) is back on home rails as it leads 35A westbound through Latrobe, PA

Nice, I like the cowmmuter train. I have the 21" version, they are massive.

I just noticed the storage silos near the top. Nice and seem to be appropriate.

They aren't accurate for NJT, but I'll take what I can get

NJT/Metro North, literally across the street from the house I grew up in on the Pascack Valley Line




This is from way on the west side of the state at the southern end of Letchworth State Park. The original iron bridge is being replaced by a new steel arch. This was Erie territory but is now N&S. Old bridge is in front of new bridge. Extraordinarily spindly, almost invisible. It will be removed once the new one is complete.

I remember seeing photos of that bridge.
Yes, it was spindly but just looked right for that area.

Original bridge was wood, it burned. Was replaced by iron bridge. It needed to be upgraded during WW2. Some of the iron work was replaced by steel. The bridge wasn't suitable for modern equipment/loads and could not be upgraded further. I really thought N&S would just abandon the line and reroute. Here is a link to the engineering site:

There have been calls to preserve the old bridge as a pedestrian crossing but no one is stepping up to the plate with a commitment to pay for the necessary safety upgrades or the maintenance the old bridge.
