Traveling for work this week, so I'll be on the road most of tomorrow. Thought I would post some pics now.

A few new engines on the track for this week - The N&W Heritage unit & the NS OCS. MTH did an awesome job with the glossy paint on the NS F7s. They look really sharp!

Well, since no real layout building is taking place yet  here's my train room art. I did get around to hanging that, in between never-ending workshop organization efforts (it's close! I am asymptotically approaching completion. )

Creeping up on it, are you? Not wanting to startle it, right?

Christopher,
How old are the kids now?
Are they allowed to play with some trains when you are not present?
In the photo where Lornzo is railfanning with you there is a cable of some type running down the ballast behind him.
Any idea of what it is?

From the archives, a Flyer 3315 hi-balling northbound toward Hellgate:

Reworking this front edge of the layout...hoping to have that done in time for the holidays.

Just a guess, but pneumatic line for activating a turnout?

Roger,

My daughter actually turns 7 on Wed. My son is 4 & my youngest daughter is 16 months. While they are handy w/ the DCS & TMCC remotes, I don't allow them to operate the trains when I'm not around. Too many things that can go wrong with electricity. My wife would have no idea what to do. It makes it something special to do with Dad :)

That cable by the tracks is connected to a dragging equipment detector located just out of view.

Thanks, Christopher.
I'm surprised that cable isn't covered.
