Atlas 0 two stall brick engine shed
I have one. In pieces, some parts never taken off the sprues, some (sides) used for a while for another purpose, now repatriated.
Assembly seems pretty intuitive, sides assembled, spacer columns in, corners going together....but....
I have 6 pieces, now off the sprues, labeled 1042-1 (guessing this is kit number 1042), black, big, four shaped like a square capital E, two like a double-sided square capital E.
No idea where they go.
They are just too narrow (by over an inch) to go crossways inside the shell.
I have searched for either photos of the underside (none so far) or assembly instructions on-line (even Atlas doesn't have them up).
Any help?
Thanks.
I did ask on the Atlas Rescue Forum, and sent an e-mail to Atlas Tech Support....

Pictures of the parts, please. I assembled one of these many years ago; maybe they will jog my memory.

Was this a Rivarossi-made kit?

Unknown. No box, no instructions, bits spread across four boxes of junk.
Here is the photo:

Finally found a photo that shows these parts. Obviously the 18-1/2" lineal I have ain't gonna cover the entire distance. Maybe it's not supposed to.

Nice engine house!
In your first post you said you had all six pieces, does it require more to make the entire foundation?
I have a MTH single-stall house, it was the only thing that would fit in the space I had.
I put LEDs in the roof but they give off a bluish tint, might make the workers slow down under all that mood killer lighting!

Classic structure - how many companies have sold that same engine house over the decades? Mine came out of an IHC box...
Can't answer the question as I made my own foundation after I lopped off ~1/3 of the length to make it fit.

Re: Atlas 0 two stall brick engine shed
I think it needs at least nine pieces, but I can fix that. I would use solid oh, 1/2X1/2 and run it the entire length. SOMETHING needs to be done to stiffen up the fluttering sides.

Re: Atlas 0 two stall brick engine shed
Dave,
The pieces shown in your picture are the foundations for your shed.
They raise the building above track level so the end doors will close.
Try fitting two 'E' pieces end to end, or top to bottom, on each side,
'points' on the 'E's pointing inward.
The pieces that look like back to back 'E's, go in the center between the two stalls.
Assemble them (short) end to end like the side foundations.
Each side has two 'panels' joined end to end.
It is a 'drive thru' shed with doors on each end.
The pic posted from the OGR forum is what you appear to have.
It was imported from Italy (Rivarossi?) by AHM (Assoatiated Hobby Models)
from the '50's to ????.
You are correct, the building could usee more interior bracing.
It's not PlasticVille, but like PlasticVille, is sturdier when 'glued' together.
Try adding 1/4" plastic or wood 'beams' along the inside perimeters of the walls and above the doors on the ends for additional 'prorotypical' bracing, even used with brick buildings.
I have one, too, in the same condition as yours, altho at one time it was together.
You've prompted me to dig out mine, I'll post some 'exploded' views when I do.
(edit:) Some corrections apply. See below V.

As promised, here are the parts & pieces
I was able to dig out easily:
Here is the double stall roundhouse (missing the foundation pieces).
Some pieces need repair.
The tape on the upper wall has "Heijan" penciled in by the previous owner.
The side walls have (4) panels between (5)five piers and are glued together.
The upper wall, cupola roofs, (3) of the main roof sections and left end are as viewed as from the inside of the building.
The lower wall and right end, and lower main roof panel are as viewed as from the outside of the building.
The black piece in the upper left corner is a brick wall to close off one portal if desired. It has a door molded in.
The 3 sided shed in the lower left corner can be placed at any location along either side.
The two chimneys/smoke stacks are placed near the ends over each track for locomotive exhaust(?).
(I may be incorrect in any or all assumptions made here, above, or below.)

Re: Atlas 0 two stall brick engine shed
Here are parts & pieces of (2)two LIONEL single stall engine houses.
Walls and foundations have (2) sections each.
Missing are the cupolas and most of the chimneys, (2)two each for each shed.
The foundation for one shed is not present.
One extra end and a home-made roof section are shown.
-------------
I trust that this will help all in indentifying and assembling your 'boxes' of shed parts.

Yeah...I have all of that. These are so flimsy, you need the "foundation" just to keep the sides from flapping in the breeze. You can just chop the bottom of the doors off if you don't use a foundation, but that won't work well with large scale locos, I fear.
What I am going to do is take the double "E" pieces and clean one side off (and retain), then make a row of single sided "E" pieces and fix the outer walls.
Then take the retained bits and make a small "T" section for the centre of the end walls at the door hinges.
Atlas folks think this is a "Rivarossi" shed...I remember in Half Zero the same buildings would get made by Riv, AHM, TYCO, Heljan, and maybe even Botchman over the years.
