Happy Friday

worked on the back wall/corner this weekend. Got the rest of my background buildings up, finished ballast, added the small road & installed some telephone poles. Also scratch built the loading dock. Just have to add a lamp post & some more detailed parts like figures, crates, etc

The layout is looking great Christopher...soon it will be "done".

Nothing as grandiose here. I have been running a few things recently that hadn't been touched for years. Here's a 1681 from the early-1930's that rarely comes down off the shelf:



Pretty much the bottom of the food-chain for Lionel in the bowels of the Depression. Somehow the low-end stuff seems to sometime hold the most sentimental value.

yeah "Done" lol, but I know what you mean. The major parts will be, then I can work on super detailed scenes & the like.

It's crazy how old that engine is. The stories it could tell. That was probably a very expensive gift for whoever bought it back then.

Nice backdrops/flats. Details really make the pictures pop.

Yes, the backdrop looks really sharp. The incremental layering gives a good effect.

You have a lot of little fingers working the layout...super-detailing? That wouldn't have lasted ten minutes when my kids were little, lol.

The ballast makes a world of difference.

Yeah the ballasting really does dress up that track. The plastic roadbed is so cheap looking

Super detailing meaning some well placed figures & such. But all that would be away from the edges where the little hands can't get access

Here's a special train!

Conrail OCS-11 with Conrail brass onboard slows for Dearborn St crossing. The crossings Delray were out of service thanks to a storm that previous Wednesday, so the trains had to be flagged across. I presume the CP unit was the nicest engine up at Conrail North Yard, I don't think the CEO would have liked a ride in a high-hood GP38-2...

It's new construction located in Cranberry Township, PA (north of Pittsburgh).

Yes. All that space (14' x 47') is going to hold this.

And that is not too far from what's left of the Panhandle, Weirton and Steubenville.
So you can go visit now and then and remember the way it was and get inspired (or depressed).
