No fun buying them already painted!

Healey

But it is also no fun if you can't see what you are painting. :(

Agreed...my near-vision has gone to hell. Glasses are worthless, so I broke down and bought an Optivisor. That's very helpful, although when I photograph stuff I've painted I see all of the flaws that are invisible to me when I'm working on it. That and adopting the two-foot rule keeps me satisfied with what I can still accomplish.

I started using the three foot rule four years ago and most of my layout looks OK to me. :D

This is slightly off topic, but I am thoroughly disgusted by the focus these days on zombies. I watch a series on AMC called "Halt And Catch Fire " - about computer entrepreneurs. Every commercial break includes 2 minutes of previews for "Walking Dead", "Fear the Walking Dead", etc. The commercials are all the same- gratuitous violence".

And now Micro-Mark has finally gone too far. I got an ad to "Zombie-fy" my layout.

Pathetic.

Zombie stuff seemed insane. Of all the "scary" things to be scared of, zombies are way done on the list. Flame thrower. Zombies can't move if the soft tissue is roasted and then incinerated. Bones can't move on their own. Now vampires and killer robots are a completely different story!

Hobo's are working their way to the top of the lead pile, but I'm still hung up on ships:

Healey,
I'm always amazed at what you, and others, can do to such small things. :D
If that was mine it would be painted one color from a spray can.

Healey,
If that got dropped on our floor I would probably think it was some kind of bug and squash it. That's how good my eyes are. :(
I might like to have your eyes. Probably your fingers too.

Been working a lot of projects this summer, mostly catching up with stuff around the house. Got a couple of book projects that are sucking the life out of me...hoping to wrap those by fall. Still working the lead-pile too.

Started block-painting the Arttista hobos and some 28mm Age-of-Glory British infantry:

In the meantime the ship-painting continues. Matt Schreck's been helping me knock down the fleet:

Nice figure selection from the UK:

Pricey, but sharp.
