Vallejo “desert yellow”...it darkens a bit after the ink wash is applied.

I started using an OptiVisor a couple years ago. Even wearing glasses, the vision had deteriorated to a point I could no longer focus for close work. I think I bought the lowest strength version, probably off Amazon. The thing is a godsend.

I have something similar with a few interchangeable lenses. They work great right over my regular glasses and they have a flip up lens. I look like Benny snake eyes Wilson when I wear them

I’ll take a look at it tomorrow, see if I can find the power number. My memory is that I bought the lowest power they offered, but I’ll check.

You can swap lenses in the OptiVisor too. I’ve never bought the next power, at least not yet.

Was up to Sarge's today to drop off a York find for his roster (it's gonna need some work). While there, I grabbed a quick shot off the layout of a guy manning the fuel rack:



That's Max, a resin figure from Rusty Rail (https://www.rustyrail.com/index.html). I think their stuff is pretty sharp.

Sarge did a great job on that fuel rack; you can almost smell the diesel oil.

Yup, this is the third or fourth "Max" I've done. It's a great figure with decent facial features, a nice hat, lots of creases in the clothing, bare arms, and heavy gloves on the hands. He almost always turns out nice. It helps having a swell scene to place him in.

Rusty Rail gravitates to that narrow-gauge world where broken-down shacks and rubbish tend to predominate, but still a lot of neat stuff there. I've never bought any of the interior bits like the workbenches, storage racks, etc., but they look like they'd be handy for detailing the inside of a shop or a roundhouse. I also want to try one or two of their truck-conversions, but I gotta find a donor truck first.
