That's a baloney chart...take Putin and ten oligarchs out of Russia and the country goes purple at best.

I'd seriously question Brazil as well. Then again, we have no idea what definitions were used to define high, medium, etc. No context so no real meaning. Lies, damned lies, and then there are statistics!

Well what the heck, it was on the internet so it has to be TRUE.

How much is Russian median income? What life standard does a typical middle class Russian have?
https://www.quora.com/How-much-is-Russi ... ssian-have

The median household income is $23,000 but Russians have free healthcare and education, and most Russians own their homes outright so have no rent or mortgage to pay, which accounts for 30–50% of expenditures for many Americans. In addition, many Russians have organic gardens which produce a share of their food supply. The mortgage debt burden of the average Russian is $415.

In the US, the median wage has fallen 40% since 1989. In 1989, the median wage was $21,000 and today it is $26,000. $21,000 dollars, adjusted for inflation, would today be $36,000, so while the US is, falling behind, with decreased median wages and more and more debt, the Russians have risen from 2K to 14K, with free education, healthcare, and, for the majority, no housing costs.

Perhaps that is why most Russians think the country is going in the right direction and Putin has unprecedented support, having ruled over an era when wages doubled and GDP tripled.

Those who mock the Russians are speaking out of ignorance and a sham pride in their “superior” standard of living.

Where do you get your information?

US median income is actually now well over $50k.

30–50% of expenditures for many Americans.

For homes? If anyone if paying greater than 30% of their income on a mortgage they won't be for long - that's the express lane to defaulting.

Healthcare in Russia is vastly inferior to that available in the USA, at least measured by life expectancy, which is 10 years less than the average developed nation according to the OECD. Alcoholism is rampant, which may account for a good bit of that. Lots of Russians apply to American and British Universities for post-graduate training compared with close to zero for the other direction. Anyone who thinks Putin's Russia is some sort of paradise has been listening to our crackpot treasonous alt-media too much :). It may be an improvement over Communism, but it's way behind the rest of the developed world 30 years after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Putin is popular. So was Hitler, oh by the way. I grant you Hitler was much, much worse than Putin. Both of their opponents have a way of being found dead under peculiar or not-so-peculiar circumstances.

The one thing everyone can agree on is this is the first time a Republican administration has been praising and making excuses for a Russian government and its leader. It isn't because the Russians have become our friends and paragons of republican democracy. What it is due to is open for debate.

By the way, according to Business Insider the average USA family income adjusted for inflation is the highest it's ever been, in 2016, about $59,000. Not sure where you got numbers almost 40% lower than that, but they are almost certainly incorrect. Unless you, like our President thinks the US Census Bureau is a group of deep state thugs bent on misleading the American people. :)

The source is a "former amateur writer." Probably a KGB agent posting on the web, or similar Russian government disinformation specialist. If we have learned anything in the last couple of years, it's that the Russians are better than we at disinformation. For one thing, they have a lot more English speakers, even if they are not sufficiently sophisticated to realize that "former amateur writer" is a nonsense term :).

Here's one of the responses, probably someone from the FBI trying to make Russia look bad ;).

I's entertaining to read how some muddy personalities with English names in their nicknames tell us how we live Russian, based on the data of Putin's propagandist websites. The median in Russia is 200-250 dollars per month, prices of gasoline are the same as in the US rice, oil, etc. all as in an inexpensive supermarket in the US. Yes, there is medical insurance for everyone, but only on it you will not be treated properly except for traumatology, the rest is paid and therefore the Internet is filled with requests for help. Yes, those who stayed behind during the Soviet Union got apartments, but these apartments were given in cities that were built around two plants. When they closed the housing there was nothing to be worth. Apartment for five thousand dollars but there is no work, no. And where the work is an apartment is worth a hundred thousand dollars. Plus, these apartments have parents, they have not been issued for 30 years. In Russia there is no middle class at all. There is an elite, there are their servants and propagandists. And there is a working poverty.

So do the Chinese and those from India. All the Oncologist my wife had, in Springfield and M.D Anderson in Houston were from India. What a bunch of QUACKS they were. Chemo is a multi-billion dollar industry in this country that these so called Doctors get rich off of.

I spend entirely too many hours a day tying my shoes
